SMASH announces new partnership!

It is with great excitement that we announce our SMASH Volleyball Club community will be growing for the 2024-25 season!  SMASH is partnering with LOVB (pronounced ‘Love’) to offer our athletes and coaches top-notch resources, opportunities, and connections to their community and professional volleyball league.  With LOVB, SMASH will be able to offer the most comprehensive club volleyball experience in the country, with every level of the club receiving support.

We will be in good company, joining a group of nearly 50 clubs that includes A5, Skyline, Premier Nebraska, Rockstar/Long Beach, TStreet, Club V, etc.

League One Volleyball’s mission is to champion the sport of volleyball and every athlete who plays it, transforming the potential of volleyball into a nationwide network of junior clubs, celebrated champion athletes, and leaders.  LOVB is a first-of-its-kind community re-imagining the future of volleyball.  This winter LOVB is launching a televised pro league that will feature some of the best players in the world, including several of the American gold medalists from the last Olympics and nearly all of the current Olympic team.

LOVB is leading the charge to bring our professional volleyball talent back from Europe and create a major professional league for our sport in the USA.  They are doing it in partnership with juniors clubs across the country.  Boston could be a key part of the future of the pro-league and a partnership with SMASH is the perfect fit.

When Judy Slamin and Richard Barton founded SMASH Volleyball thirty-five years ago, they created a legacy of initiative… for those that know/knew them, they pushed the envelope, did things differently, continually adapted, and embraced change.

SMASH has evolved tremendously over the ensuing years and we will continue to evolve, strive, and dare to be great.  But we will continue to retain the lessons and examples set forth by Judy & Richard, put people first, and do things the SMASH way, even when it’s hard.

So, what’s next?  Our families will continue to receive excellent training and development at SMASH, as you always have.  Look forward to relationships with our Pro-league players, coaches, and teams down the road. Get excited to become part of this historic moment for women’s volleyball!

We are grateful for this opportunity, and excited for the future and our part in working with League One Volleyball in championing the sport of volleyball in the U.S. as we continue to build the most innovative club program in our region.

We’ll see you soon!
