Eric Neely is the current Girls Director of SMASH and coach of the SMASH 17s. In his more than 15 years with SMASH, Eric has coached teams at many ages and also served as Head of Coach Education.

He has been a head coach and lead evaluator for USA Volleyball High Performance and served as the head coach of the NERVA High Performance Women’s Team.

Eric is also the head volleyball coach at Babson College. In his 12 seasons at the helm, Babson has a record of 256-102. The only coach in program history with more than 200 wins, Neely has led the Beavers to 20 or more victories nine times, has helped the team capture four NEWMAC Tournament championships and has led his squads to seven NCAA Tournament berths.

Under his tutelage, Babson’s players have earned AVCA All-America honors and 14 all-region awards. He has also coached a NEWMAC Defensive Player of the Year and has seen 20 athletes garner all-league accolades during his tenure.

He was named AVCA Regional Coach of the Year in 2019 after leading the team to a 33-2 season and NEWMAC Coach of the Year twice.  He was selected as the Boston Globe Coach of the Year in 2008, after his teams won four sectional titles while going 94-40 during his tenure at Ursuline Academy.
