Skill Training & Competition Program

Winter 2018 STAC Program

SMASH Volleyball Club's Skill Training & Competition (STAC) Program takes place at Newton North HS on Sunday mornings from 10:00am-12:30pm.  In case of inclement weather, please be advised times/dates may change.

This 10-week program will begin on January 21 and end on March 25.

The STAC Program offers high-level volleyball instruction in a safe and active environment where athletes of all backgrounds and levels of experience are encouraged to work hard at developing their ability and potential.  Each training session includes skill instruction, drills, and a variety of fast-paced, competitive play.  SMASH coaching methods are in accordance with current motor learning research findings and follow the same principles of instruction used by the USA National Teams and most top collegiate programs nationwide.

This program is designed for Middle School and High School girl athletes.

  • Coaches are chosen for coaching ability, knowledge, and most importantly, positive skills with young players
  • Coaches include college and high school coaches, top area players, men and women, and club coaches
  • STAC is a no-cut program
  • There is a certified trainer on site for taping and other medical issues
  • We are very serious about our coaches; we have many, and they receive a 1-hour training session before each session

The total fee for this program is $400, which consists of a $50 "tryout" fee and a $350 balance.

The $50 tryout fee covers the first two sessions (January 21 & 28), and allows players to "try us out" before committing to the remainder of the program (8 subsequent weeks with the $350 balance due February 4).

(The $50 tryout fee is waived for players who paid the SMASH travel team tryout fee in October/November 2017.)
